Figures are starting rates for a one way run between Cleveland Hopkins and the downtown core. The final number depends on distance, time of day and waiting, and it is confirmed with you by telephone before the booking exists.
What goes into a rate
A transfer price is not one number, and pretending otherwise is how people end up arguing at the kerb. Here is what actually moves it.
- Distance and direction. Downtown, the eastern suburbs and Akron are three different runs.
- Time of the day. A pick up before six in the morning costs more than one at eleven, because
the operator is paying a driver to start in the dark.
- Waiting time. A short grace period is normal after a flight lands. Beyond it, waiting is
charged by the operator, and the rule is written on the pricing page rather than discovered later.
- Airport fees and tolls. Some are unavoidable and they are passed through at cost.
- Vehicle class. A van costs more than a sedan because it is a bigger vehicle and a bigger driver
licence category.

Where we book rides
One metro area, worked properly, rather than a map of the whole country.
The core is Cuyahoga County: Cleveland itself, the near west side, the eastern suburbs from Shaker Heights out to Mentor, and the southern ring through Independence and Strongsville. Beyond that we book into Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Geauga counties, which covers Akron and the Chagrin Valley. Airports in the service areas are Cleveland Hopkins, Burke Lakefront, Cuyahoga County and Akron Canton.
Runs outside that ring, for example to Columbus or Pittsburgh, can sometimes be arranged, but they are quoted case by case and the desk will say plainly when the answer is no.
