Airport transfers we book, and how each one is handled
Six kinds of run, each with its own timing rules, meeting point and things that commonly go wrong.
Every run below is a booking placed with a licensed local operator. Skylena takes the request, checks availability, quotes it and confirms it with you. The vehicle and the driver belong to the operator, not to us.

Arrival pick ups
The most common request, and the one where timing matters most.
You give us the flight number. The operator watches the actual landing time rather than the scheduled one, so a late arrival does not mean a vehicle that left without you. A short grace period after landing is included, which covers a normal walk through the terminal and a normal wait at the belt.
Two meeting styles are available and they are priced differently:
- Kerbside. The driver texts when they are on the approach and meets you at the arrivals kerb.
Faster and cheaper, and it needs you to be reachable by phone.
- Meet inside. The driver parks and waits inside the terminal with a name board. Better with
children, heavy luggage, a first visit or an elderly passenger. Parking is added at cost.
At Cleveland Hopkins the kerbside arrangement is straightforward outside peak hours. Between five and seven in the evening the arrivals level is busy enough that meeting inside is often calmer.
Departure drop offs
Simpler, and the whole job is the pick up time.
The desk works back from your flight: check in cut off, the security queue at that hour on that day of the week, and the drive with a realistic allowance for the Innerbelt. For a domestic morning departure out of Hopkins the usual answer is a pick up about two hours and forty minutes before the wheels leave, and more in the first week of January or on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
If your own plan differs, say so. It is your flight, and the desk will book what you ask for and tell you honestly if it looks tight.
Group and family transfers
Anything above four passengers is a different vehicle and a different conversation.
The desk asks for the real bag count rather than the passenger count, because seven people with seven cases do not fit the same vehicle as seven people with hand luggage. Ski bags, golf bags, instruments and pushchairs all take space that a booking form usually forgets to ask about.
Child seats are available from most operators when they are requested at the time of booking, in the right size for the child. They cannot reliably be added at the kerb on the day, so this is one of the few things that must be settled in advance.
Corporate and repeat runs
For companies that move people through Cleveland regularly, the desk keeps the requirements on file: preferred vehicle class, whether the driver meets inside, invoicing details, and any site rules at the pick up address.
There is no membership, no minimum volume and nothing to sign. It is simply less typing on the second booking than on the first.
Inter airport and long distance runs
Hopkins to Akron Canton, Burke Lakefront to Hopkins, and the occasional run out to Pittsburgh or Detroit for a missed connection. These are quoted individually because they are long enough that tolls and driver hours change the answer.
For anything beyond about two hours of driving the desk will usually tell you what the alternatives cost as well, including the train and the scheduled coach, because a three hundred dollar car is not always the right answer and pretending otherwise is a good way to lose a customer permanently.
What we do not do
Said plainly, because it saves everyone a telephone call.
- We do not run our own vehicles and we do not employ drivers.
- We do not hold a passenger carrier licence, and no licence number appears anywhere on this site.
- We do not sell tickets of any kind, we do not take payment on this site, and we do not process
cards here.
- We are not a taxi and we do not do street hails or immediate on demand pick ups.
- We do not book medical transport, wheelchair accessible vehicles requiring a lift, or anything
that needs a certified attendant. Those need specialist operators and we will say so rather than guess.
Check availability for the run you actually need on the booking page, or speak to a specialist if it is unusual enough to be worth a conversation first.
